Icon Magazine recently spotlighted the Pavillon Sestig, an architectural masterpiece located in Deurle, Belgium. Originally designed by Ivan Van Mossevelde in 1972, this 1,000-square-meter brutalist home serves as both the personal residence and creative headquarters of renowned Belgian architect Glenn Sestig. Known for his minimalist and modernist approach, Sestig has masterfully revitalized the space, preserving its original structure while introducing striking new features like expansive openings, a rooftop staircase, and a distinctive garden. The house seamlessly blends contemporary chic with cozy elegance, incorporating materials like colored glass, natural stone, and mineral paints to create a harmonious, timeless environment. Sestig’s intuitive design philosophy is evident not only in his personal sanctuary but also in the projects he’s crafted for clients such as Raf Simons and Ann Demeulemeester.

Located in the prestigious Portus Ganda area, where the Scheldt and Leie rivers converge, this penthouse is a serene sanctuary in the heart of Ghent. Perched atop the city of Ghent, this unique penthouse apartment is a true architectural masterpiece. With its breathtaking views of lush parks, and iconic landmarks, the space is both an urban retreat and an aesthetic marvel. The interior design plays with the elegance of round shapes, from smooth, curved walls to rounded furnishings that create a sense of flow and harmony throughout. These soft, circular forms stand in contrast to the sleek concrete and natural stone, adding warmth and inviting comfort to the space. The organic shapes in the design echo the surrounding landscape, creating a seamless connection between the apartment and its stunning surroundings.

The south side of Antwerp - also known as Zuid - is brimming with architectural activity. Local developer Triple Living is behind several of the projects there, including an apartment building by Swiss architect Max Dudler. Glenn Sestig was invited to design the scheme’s two duplex penthouses, which have just been completed. The two designs offer different propositions for living in Antwerp’s trendy Zuid – one is tailor made for family life and the other is an urbane pad for two. However, both spaces are united in their minimalist, contemporary feel and carefully thought-out interiors in Glenn Sestig’s signature style of subtle luxury.
