And not only is this a fine retail interior, perfectly in line with the company’s identity and immaculate balnéaire style; it is also a project that breathes new life to the former Coccodrilo boutique that closed in 2019, a proud Glenn Sestig Architects classic. The existing raw, concrete surfaces and calming, geometric compositions of this reimagined Antwerp townhouse is being transformed into Morobé’s stylish base in the Flemish fashion capital. The project, set to open later this year, takes its cues from the brand’s flagship in Knokke. Watch this space.

The latest addition to the family of scented candles brings together this design inspiration with a characterful yet gentle fragrance with hints of Arabian rose, patchouli, amber, saffron and geranium. | | | | | Mon Dada’s booth at this month’s maison&objet show in Paris is designed in pure, minimalist style – a clean, refreshing, light coloured canvas conceived to best showcase the Belgian candle maker’s collection of scented products, created with Glenn Sestig and launched last year. ‘60’ was inspired by architecture, abstract art and dramatic landscapes, and its bespoke environment at maison&objet draws on these powerful references to celebrate smells and shapes, design and lifestyle. | | | | | | British multi-brand fashion retailer Machine-A is launching in Shanghai this September, and with it, opens the city’s very first physical Raf Simons boutique. The retail unit follows on past translations of the Simons brand into architectural space, offering an elegant composition of geometric surfaces, spatial drama and brutalist concrete. Originally designed by architect François Langeraert for a local industrialist in 1927, this period villa is offered a new lease of life, as its new owners came to the studio for a refresh and expansion of their property. The redesign respects the home’s 1920s character and elevates it, building on its majestic proportions, brick materiality and luxurious detailing in a reimagining that unites past and future. | | | | | One of Knokke’s most well-known Grande Dames, as well as one of its largest resorts, Hotel La Réserve is being thoroughly redesigned by Glenn Sestig Architects. The works, following the hotel’s acquisition by influential Belgian businessmen Bart Versluys and Marc Coucke, commence with the ground level’s expansive lobby, terrace and restaurant areas – the last notably to be transformed into a new fine dining experience by renowned Michelin-starred chef Peter Goossens. Glenn Sestig will be injecting his design magic in this generous but in-need-of-an-update hospitality complex, mixing dark accents with the lightness of a seaside-inspired colour palette. The opening is planned for 2023. | | | | | When Belgian property developers MG approached Glenn Sestig Architects for a fair booth design, the studio responded by creating a clever, modular structure that can be easily reused and transported between events. Its first stop is Ghent, at a trade show opening on September 13th. | | | | | |
